Bi3 In Deal With Leading European Analytics Company Davantis

Bi3-Davantis-WebBusiness Insight3 (Bi3) have formed an exclusive partnership with Davantis, the leading European manufacturer of analytics and intelligent video systems.  The 2-year deal allows Bi3 to supply Davantis products and software exclusively through the UK and Ireland.

Bi3 have added 2 new units to their range immediately, namely, the SIU (Security Intelligence Unit), a modular product that includes analytics such as Tripwire, Loitering, Object Detection and Left and Removed Item and the RIU (Retail Intelligence Unit) that includes analytics such as Unattended Customer, (TWC) Transaction Without Customer, People Counting and Item Removed. These units are both retro-fittable which means they can be added to any existing CCTV system.

By offering these new products, Bi3 are able to strengthen their position as an all round analytics and intelligence systems distributor. This deal will allow Bi3 to continue to provide retail and business owners new and even more innovative ways to get an all round view of their business activities, show them where fraud is occurring and save them money by reducing inefficiencies, theft and loss/damage.

i-lidsBi3 were initially attracted to Davantis because their products have received the i-LIDS accreditation, which they share with only a handful of other companies in the UK.  i-LIDS is the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) benchmark for video based detection systems in the UK.  Davantis achieved the highest possible accreditation for analytics based systems and allows the products to be used as a primary detection device and be installed in Government projects.

DavantisXavier Miralles from Davantis commented, “The UK is an important market for us.  We are delighted to have Bi3 as a partner to help grow our market share in the UK and take advantage of the UK i-LIDS certification”.  Xavier continued, “We will also be using Bi3’s experience in the security and surveillance market to develop the retail intelligence side of our business, creating new products and bespoke solutions to service this market more effectively”.

Davantis was born out of the Computer Vision Centre, the world-leading source of analytics.  They have established themselves as a leading authority in intelligent video surveillance products and have worked with large European companies such as Repsol, Nexans and General Cable.  In Davantis’ own words, “our systems act like a virtual watcher”.  The analytics capabilities of the Davantis products mean that everything a security camera is seeing is being analysed.  If anything is picked up as being out of the ordinary the system will alarm and the operator can take action.  Using this approach can massively increase the efficiencies of a security system.

Glen Higson, Bi3’s Managing Director commented, “We are excited about our partnership with Davantis. The deal gives us the opportunity to introduce a fantastic product to the UK, strengthen our offering to our customers and become a leading name in the UK security and analytics market”.

Innovation Comes In 3’s

DVRThere is an innovative new CCTV/Analytics company on the block with the name Business Insight³.

Glen Higson, the previous Managing Director of the DVR manufacturer Dowshu Electronics has set up Business Insight³ (Bi³) along with the expertise of previous Dowshu Technical Manager Ed Kohut and Sales Manager Paul Green.

Bi³ has brought together multiple new technologies along with existing CCTV technologies to help give owner/managers a deeper ‘Insight’ into their organisation.

Business Insight³ provides companies with “Insight Management Reports”. These reports contain information on key metrics in a business such as Sales Conversion Rates, Advertising Effectiveness, Staffing Efficiencies, Customer Behaviour, Health and Safety and Critical Areas of Security.

This essential information is delivered in a clear and efficient format backed up by video evidence. This allows top-level decision makers to make more informed decisions based on better information.

A working example may be a retail store that is taking 500 transactions on their tills per day, 5 of these are fraudulent. With a Bi³ system, the store owner would be informed of the number of visitors to the store on a particular day, the conversion rate of visitors to sales, where people walked whilst they were in the store (Hot Spots), estimates on staffing numbers by time and many other metrics. He/she would also be provided with short video clippings of the fraudulent till transactions.

Glen Higson commented, “By providing business owners with usable information, combined with video as apposed to just raw data, we can help them to make better business decisions, make efficiencies within their store, reduce fraud and make their stores more profitable.” Glen continued, “We have put together a sophisticated system to do all the number crunching, the result is a short report with detailed usable business information. When you think that a business owner could save £1,000’s every month yet outlay less than £50 per week, this becomes very exciting.”

Drawing on past successes, Glen hopes Business Insight³ will not just fill a gap in the market but help give owner/managers a fresh look at their business with the aim of making them more profitable.
